A little history

Ignorance is also in Villa del Prado, the dominant factor with regard to its origin, although the remains of ceramics, granite blocks and anthropomorphic tombs found at the site now occupied by settlements give us clues in places such as the Visigoths and Rehoyo Castillejos, as well as a necropolis in the Cerro de las Vacas.

The village of El Alamin, situated about seven kilometers from the end, the reference is to join with the most consistent theory of the beginning of the history of the municipality. It was from the tenth century of a defensive Arabs, located between the two Castillas, until the conquest of Toledo in 1085. History tells us that at that time was a rich and populous village, in which the house was built Prado Guard guarding the shepherds, which might well be the start of the locality under consideration. King Alfonso VIII, a century later, El Alamin donates to the Archbishop of Toledo who keeps on his property until well into the fifteenth century, when Villa del Prado was sold to the estate of Don Alvaro de Luna for the end of the century have the privilege of Villa. The Condestable of Castile, Juan II valid, a palace built here now retains only the title page. Infantado House that belonged to his son years later who would undertake the construction of the church of St. James. Was moved by the nobility until the abolition of the domains ordered by the Courts of Cadiz in 1811.

War of Independence and subsequent confrontations Carlists shook the life of the town, although the nineteenth century resulted in a more positive development: the construction of the railway line Madrid-Almorox passing Villa del Prado to bring the produce of her garden to the capital. In the twenty-first century we witness the progress of this work, the process of conversion to green route to be used as a tourist by nature. A sector, tourism, rising and complete dedication to agricultural Villa del Prado, with extensive gardens and greenhouses, and a prestigious wine business has finally print to a local economic dynamism of the first magnitude.
